TREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a feeling I'm going to be without power for awhile.

Last night we had a little storm, and I mean little.  It rained, the wind blew a bit,
no biggie.  No drain of power, inside, so how would I know this was happening right
outside my own house. My neighbors massive tree, must have, just had it, and
eased its self, slowly to the ground. Taking all power, cable and phone lines with it.
But get this, I still have power, phone and cable!
The power company was nice enough to leave it alone til this morning, so here
gos the round of phone calls...!

Addendum: Power is back on, even though we need new weather-head, meter and wire up to code, the crew from the electrical company, hooked us up! It's to hot to be without power.  I am so grateful!

How does your Pumpkin Grow?

Every year after the pumpkin season is over,
I always have a perfectly good pumpkin left, the ones I
don't carve anyway.
I leave them in the house all through the Christmas season,
and the long months of winter.
But low and behold, around March or April,
I notice the tale-tale signs of Pumpkin rot and out
gos the pumpkin!  Sometimes I'll toss it in the compost pile, or just
place it under my little dogwood tree...surprise, surprise!

Seedlings are sprouting,
But after more inspection of rotting pumpkins under my tree,
I discovered another pumpkin vine, which is well on its way
to, hopefully producing a big blooming pumpkin.
This vine is from a pumpkin I set out 2 years ago!

Okay, Cinderella, get ready, your coach is on the way!

At least something is growing in this heat, besides weeds.

What To Do....with all, these Goodies! Time to Create!

Just look at all of this!

Yes, this!
It's just a bunch of paint brushes, and oil paint. Along with
some odds and ends of old thumb tac's, crayons, (wonder if there are retired colors in there?)
This treasure trove was headed for the garbage can!
Yes, it was, can you believe it?
But wait, there's more!

Yep! This too!
Stacks of die-cuts, and Victorian images, all ready to be thrown away!
You've got to see this!
This too!
Be still my heart!
This cardboard image stands, 30" tall!
Just Beautiful!
But thankfully I was there to save all these treasures!
My Sister-in-Law, just knew I'd want these.  But if I
wasn't there, she would have thrown the whole catch out.
Thanks Susie!
What I'm showing you is only a fraction of what I brought home from NY.
The trunk of our car was packed with good junk!

So now, what to do with all....!!!!!!
I'm just going to have to get my creative juices flowing!
Maybe pull out the bits and bobs, of trim and felt, and wait for
my German glass glitter to arrive.

No Place Like Home!

Just got back from here,

I love New York, but I am soooo happy to be home!
This vacation was not a vacation.  It was madness.
It was more of a working vacation.  My husband needed to check
on his father, who lives on Long Island, but we had to visit Auntie, first.
Then we went to my Father-in-Laws,
here.

These water shots are of the Great South Bay, on Long Island.
The property is in dire need of maintenance and that's why
it was a working vacation.  So we cleaned, and cleaned, then cleaned some more.
We weeded out
out the over-grown beach and back yard.

We will need to go back and do more,
because there is only so much one can do in a week.
I was so tired that I didn't get any shots of the finished work.
Hopefully another time?
Right now I'm over tired.
I can't wait to sleep in my own bed.
There's no place like home.
So off to dream-land!
