Tornado Weather....

Pre Tornado...
went from this to this...
Then to this...
and from light
to dark, in a moments flash!
It seemed so calm, and then...
what?
This was truly, a calm before the storm!
The calm, being, I felt completely safe during
this Tornado!
I'd asked my Husband, "are you ready to head for the basement?'
And he said, "Nawh, !"

When we saw the birds fly into our yard, and stay,
we knew we were okay!

But...I couldn't reach my daughters!
Cell phone service was the pits!
It took  me nearly 2 hours to reach contact with
my girls...couldn't reach them so I tried to to call
my son, who lives in Texas...couldn't reach him either!!!!!
A Mothers Panic....If I can't reach the child who should be
safe, in the heart of Texas,
away from the storm and can't even reach him,
what am I suppose to do?
SCREAM!
I just want...my children to be out of harms way!
I am fortunate that, I, my Husband and my Home
are safe!
My Children are all accounted for,
my Mother, who was right in the eye,
of this twisted sister, is SAFE!
Two houses from her...was like
it didn't exist!
It's just so surreal,
that the Morning was
so pretty
and the afternoon
brought
devastation!
Be well, to all!
Be Thankful,
And be grateful!
Truly!
Grateful!
Could you live without, toiltet paper?
Or, even, a place to use that toilet paper?
A safe place to lay your head at night?
Amazing, what the devestion of a storm, can take away from you!
Your world as you knew it, is gone!
I am glad I don't have the tooth pick pictures to show,
I think, you can imagine!
My heart to all!
Love!

Glad to know you're safe, Lisa. I grew up in "tornado alley" where several times each spring my folks woke us up and shoved us under the bed. (We usually went back to sleep.) Then the "big one" finally hit and actually got us--Tuesday, April 10th, 1979...nothing like it in the world, the sound one makes.

It's a scary thing, when the sky gets all black and the barometer goes crazy. ESPECIALLY when you can't reach your chicks. I'm really glad the morning was bright and beautiful for you.

Blessed be God that you and yours are all safe.

I have never been through a tornado. Have been through a hurricane while on a CRUISE and numerous earthquakes . . .

Tornados are scary and not to be able to reach family during one, especially your children has to be one of the worst things a parent can go through. I've been thru hurricans, earthquakes, floods and tornados, and tornados scare me the most. I'm glad that you and your family weren't harmed.

Seems like crazy weather for everyone this year but we have had nothing like what you went through - YET! Thankfully, you and your family came through okay.

I'm glad you're ok, and your children, too. I know how you feel about not being able to reach your children. A tornado went through Aumsville, Oregon where my son and two granddaughters were living last year, and I was panic-stricken until I could talk to them. His house was untouched. A block away there was so much devastation.

Wow, Lisa
I didn't realize you were so close to the tornado. I saw the video of the lady who put her mother-in-law in a hall closet and shut the door, and then she and her husband went into another closet...and those two closets were the ONLY things standing after the tornado came through. I would say that was a miracle. I am glad all of your family is OK.
