Where am I...

Oh yeah, I was playing in mache,
and got distracted. Again.

And, for a long time it seems.
Why is that?
We all know why, but really, why?

I managed to finish this little gal,
and get her shipped off.

only to realize that I made a Rhino , and not a Hippo!
My mind is gone.  Imagining what I think isn't, what is.
I'll get it fixed.
I will.

I'm trying to conquer, Photo shop elements 11.
Won't go into that right now.

I had a problem with my sewer backing up, (glad I didn't show a photo?).
Hey, this house is over 100 year old, roots were
bound to take over sometime.

And, I'm trying to change the way we eat.
It has consumed me.  But I'm not going
to preach to you,  what one should eat.

I am doing one moment at a time.
Not like these future friends,

trying to finish a little of each, all at once.

Oh, I'm working on a banner for this blog too.

Be well

Happy Easter as I Color Eggs

I really don't need to color eggs, as all my babies
are out of the house.  But some things die hard.
Like the egg.
I was going to buy brown eggs and call it done.
But, I really wanted blue eggs, and I wasn't going to rob,
Robin's nest to get them.
So, white it is,

and then,

there were shades, of blues and greens.

I then realized I have had a color theme for the last
few weeks.

I was trying to find my inspirational color when I was
painting this little guy.

I had the blue greens in mind,
I guess.
I always gather the things of
a color, that I have in mind.

I mean, really, even the water color splotch,
on the table
is in the same shade and hue I was looking for.

Now, I'm on the hunt for a shade of lavender.
for this little Hippo.

I'm not a purple person.
And we all know, never say never.

Have a great and Happy Easter!

Be Well.

Yikes! Love it or is it...

Creepy?

Now, a lot of you will love this
little dolly.  But when you're cleaning out a closet and
notice something...just not right, staring at you, from the
corner of your vision, something, for a split little second,
that makes your breath catch in fear.

Then, you realize that those kind of things
happen, only in the movies.  Right?

Dolly may be worn, torn, and dirty, and only a
forgotten little pretty from long long ago,
but she sure scared the begebbers (not a word)
out of me.

Be well,

Gott'a Color me a World.

Last week I had to run to the local Hobby/Art store.
Didn't have to, just wanted to.
When I got there I forgot what I was after, which led me wondering
around, trying to remember.

Not Good!

I still have tons to do with what I have.
But, when one sees all the new paints, pencils and
brushes, all displayed to get you to buy, buy, buy, it's
really hard.
I was a good girl and didn't buy what I already have.

This is just some of it.
So, here I go!

I did remember what I was after before I left the store.
Didn't need it, I have it somewhere in my dis-organized mess.
But sometimes it's easier to go get a new one,
so you don't spend the whole day looking.

Damn the clutter.

Be Well!

Make a New Year!

        Make a Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous
New Year!

I would like to tell you all how to
make this year better than the last,
but I can't.

I can only make mine better.
And, what is better?
How we see our year, has a lot to do
with the effect of our actions.
It all gos back to cause and effect.

I know it's easy to say, but a whole different
ball game when something life changing happens.
Your world as you know it, is gone.
Or,
a new world in life begins.

I can only hope that I'll be able to cope
with lifes snowballs that are thrown my way.
(I'm still sculpting, snowmen and Santas).

Be well, my friends,
and thank you for sticking by me
and coming to visit.

No resolutions here...just to clean up and condense,
to create, create, create.

Love you all.

PSSSSST!
the reason I'm posting early,
I want to have a sip of Baileys,
and if I had a few and then posted....Wellllll!
Pink Elephants, people, Pink Elephants.
Which reminds me...my brand new Granddaughter got
one from Santa. Yes he gave her a chunky Pink Elephant
wearing a tutu!
LALaaaaaa!

Yes Virgina,

Newsman Francis Pharcellus Church wrote The Sun's response to Virginia. Eight-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon wrote a letter to the editor of New York's Sun, and the quick response was printed as an unsigned editorial Sept. 21, 1897. The work of veteran newsman Francis Pharcellus Church has since become history's most reprinted newspaper editorial, appearing in part or whole in dozens of languages in books, movies, and other editorials, and on posters and stamps.

"DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old. "Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. "Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN it's so.' "Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus? "VIRGINIA O'HANLON. "115 WEST NINETY-FIFTH STREET." VIRGINIA, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world. You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart.

Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, VIRGINIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding. No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

 Merry Christmas,

Be Well,

What a Sap

I had to get a real tree.
So what you say?
I purchased my first fake tree

It's a great tree as far as fake gos,
but I felt detached.
I was missing the smell of the pine.
I could have bought those little sticks
that smell like pine.  But then I would have a fake
pine smell on a fake pine tree.

I tried to get in the mood, and so did my little ghostie.
My grandson was having more fun with the
curtains than with visions of sugar plums,

not that he'd know what a sugared plum was...

The whole purpose of a fake tree is to save money, right?
Yeah, I'm a sap,
missing my real tree.
 Just had to get one.

 Be well!
