One of those days...!

Did you ever have one of those days,
when you want to create something, but when
you start to paint, or sculpt or whatever it is you do,
you just go blank, or feel

like a pile of rusty junk?

Maybe I need food...to help with food for thought!

Le Petite Lune

When I started working on this last night, I stayed up
late, because I just felt compelled to finish.  I had all my pretty ribbons, and
pieces of fabric, ready.  He was going to be very very different
than what he ended up being.
I had found an antique religious medallion, and
Le Petite Lune, started speaking to me. I felt
very peaceful and quiet as I started pulling the bits and pieces from
my throw-away pile...so crumpled wax paper, and the strings from frayed
fabric became the grandest garb The Little Moon could want!

He's dress and painted in sepia tones.
Amazing how inspiration started flowing after I picked
up that Medallion...I had to use my magnifying glass
to see what kind of medal I had...it reads,
O 'Mary conceived without sin, pray for us,
who have recourse to Thee.
1830.
Yes, that is on this tiny little medallion, with an image of Mary.
This morning when I looked at my calendar...today is the Assumption of Mary,
So when we listen, the spirit moves us.

Be Well!

Wet Hands, Wet Glue!

Had to find a spot to put down my wip...hands are wet,
the metal cone on this head has gorilla glue along the back seam, and I
really had to get it off my finger before it became permanently attached.
So this bowl of pecans was a good spot for things to dry.

Got most of the glue off my fingers, but it did feel a little tacky when I clicked the camera!

Have to finish something up, then I'll show ya where the metal cone
is going,
Have a good afternoon!

The Art Of Giving

When one has a giveaway, I believe they giving a piece of themselves away.
I just received this
from Nancy
She sent it framed, but I couldn't get a good shot, without out glare.
But I'll show it anyway.

See I told you, glare!
It is done in pastels, and it looks so much better in person than
what the photos show.  It is a piece of artwork that
will hang on my wall.  I find that it fits with some other pieces
that are a little contemporary, but because of the same color scheme,
it will fit right in.
Thank you Nancy, from the bottom of my heart.
