Witches Hat Finished...Whew!

Remember a few posts back?
I was adding an image, but doing it the old fashion way?
Meaning the hard way!
Here's the finished piece.
and the close up of the image I transferred.
I wanted the image of the lady to appear transparent,
like the many layers on an old billboard.
This is the front, but there are  other images
and pretties that surround the hat.

Now I  need to decide which venue to sell it in!

Whistle While I Work...

And work, and work...!

And I will finish them within a few days!
Really, I will!
By the way, I do whistle while I work. Usually a Disney tune...like
the one in Lady and the Tramp,  when they are sharing
the pasta. Bella More`,  Love that one!
Do you ever get a song stuck in your head while you work?
I did have Stormy Weather whirling around in
my head today, and what do ya know, it's starting to storm.
Be well!

Any Day Now!

This is just an example of how slow I am.
Mind you, I planted all my tomatoes in late May.
Yes in May!
I thought surely I'd have August tomatoes at the latest.
But no, not me!
I was thrilled when I went out this evening and
spotted  color
in this mass of over-grown greenery.
Maybe, just maybe, it'll be ready on the first day of Fall!
I know it's tiny, but it's my first tomato of the season and if I slice
very carefully ...nah I'll probably just pop it in my mouth as soon as I pick it!

Be Well!

Getting Side-Tracked , Again!

As I was sifting through my clutter, I found a stash
of picture frames...Wow, I really need to use these.
How could I possibly forget I had six matching frames.
So now I'm side-tracked, trying to choose six photos out of
a thousands! Okay not thousands, but close.
Then I came across this one,

Yep, that's moi! At the tender age of 3 or 4.
It's Christmas time, and my point here, is,
even at that age, I was picking through
all the wrappings and ribbons, as you can see, I have one
wrapped around my head.  Now was this a precursor
that I would always pick through the scraps and
discarded pretties?

Maybe!
But I do know that
I would dearly love to have the bark-cloth curtains
in the background.

Ah the memories!

Another Fine Mess!

...or two, or three!

I started this whimsical witches hat, but something was missing.  It
didn't have enough layers, so I thought I'd transfer some images.  Now I could
just glue the paper on and  then peel it off, but I don't do easy. Can't find
the transfer paper. ( not organized) I'm not going to spend time looking for it,
so I do it old fashion way!
I always think of these things after I add the pretty stuff, but I thought
I'd show you the process anyway, mess and all.
That white paper has an image on the other side, which I glued to the
cone of the hat.  After it sets enough, but not quite dried, I soak
the paper and lift it off.  Kind of like stripping wall paper.
The water soaks the paper enough to start the peeling process, but
leaves the image from the print.
It's a worn vintage effect, and I didn't spend an hour looking for
the transfer paper.
Now what do I do about the mess on the work surface?
I'll worry about that tomorrow!
By the way,
I like this glue.  It takes a little getting used to,
it dries pretty quick but still gives you enough time to move
things around and it holds.  It's like a gummy gel, but
it won't bond your fingers together for life!

Be well.

No Bones About It!!!! Or Is There?

BOO!

I just finished, The Duchess, today.
It seems that I create calm and serene
sculptures, as in my previous post,  to one

Does it give you an idea how my brain functions?
The Duchess, is on Ebay,
And the piece I working on now for the Queens giveaway,
